I moved to Annapolis after graduating from college 28 years ago. I hold a degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science. I am currently the Executive Financial Officer for the Maryland Department of Information Technology. Prior to being appointed to my current position by Governor Hogan, I was the Chief Financial Officer for the Seafood Inspection Program, a division on NOAA Fisheries within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Before taking on a career as a civil servant, I owned and operated Roly Poly Annapolis, the sandwich shop on Bestgate Road. During that time, I also served as a consultant to the Olympic Sailing Committee and served as the Executive Director of the North American Laser Class Association, a membership organization of elite level sailors.
After graduating from Connecticut College, I was a member of the United States Sailing Team. I was an integral part of starting the Escape Sailboat Company and served as the Director of Marketing and Events for Vanguard Sailboats. I am a member of Eastport Yacht Club and remain an active sailor.
Locally, I have been President of the Cape St. John Community Association, member of the Parent Faculty Association at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Day School, involved with the South River Federation, and currently Treasurer of the Anne Arundel County Tennis Association as well as several political campaigns. I am also the Controller for Governor Hogan’s re-election committee.
I am passionate and dedicated to every endeavor. As an example, I picked up tennis again after not playing since high school, quickly improved my game and have become a true leader in the county by serving on the Anne Arundel County Tennis Association Board. I run countless tennis teams and have taken many to post season events, including three National Championships. I have also played a critical part in the Tennis Center at Millersville Park.
I am looking forward to being your next Alderman from Ward 5.
